Homestake Lodge is located just east of Butte Montana. Enjoy majestic cross-country skiing with luxury overnight accommodations. Bring the whole family on this fabulous adventure. Enjoy rolling terrain framed by large granite outcrops amidst our private valley are all hallmarks of skiing at Homestake Lodge. The 35+ kilometers of trails at Homestake Lodge are kept narrow to provide skiers an intimate experience with nature. Most trails are set with a classic track and a skate lane. You will love these trails while you explore the more remote areas of our valley. There is lighted loop for Night Skiing and 15 kilometers of dog friendly trails.

The 35+ kilometers of trails at Homestake Lodge are kept narrow to provide skiers an intimate experience with nature. They are just wide enough for our state of the art Pisten Bully Paana grooming equipment to do its job. Most trails are set with a classic track and a skate lane. Some of our trails are just six feet wide and these are groomed with a snow machine and Ginzu groomer with track pan. You’ll love these narrow trails while you explore the more remote areas of our valley. If you want Majestic mountain views ski up the pass where the Tobacco Root Mountains will greet you with their snowy peaks. We also have a lighted loop if people have energy to ski/want to ski Friday night.

 Skate and classic ski gear is available for rent. Also, lessons are also available for both types of skiing.) A group ski tour of the trails would also be a fun option depending on timing and day.If you like to ski with your dog, there are 15 kilometers of dog friendly trails. (However, note that not all of the lodging options allow pets and there is a $10/dog/night cleaning fee.)Lodging Description:
There are several different lodging options: Cabins, the Yurt, or Family Lodge rooms. All rooms will have an additional 8% lodging tax added. The Cabins are well appointed with nice linens, beautiful showers and kitchen and dining areas including coffee pot and fridge. Firewood is provided and there is propane heat in the cabins also. You may check-in as early as 3 PM. If you will be later than 8 PM we ask that you notify us in advance. Check-out time is 11 AM. Coming prior to check in time and going for a ski is always an option.
  • Lodge Main Floor Room – $250/night – Sleeps 6 in 3 twins, 1 full and 1 queen bed. This room has towels and bedding/comforters provided.Use of commercial kitchen, coffee pot, microwave, fridge available.
  • Lodge Upstairs Room – $250/night plus tax – Has 12 beds, all twin plus one full, some in bunk beds. These beds are made with a flannel fitted sheet, pillow and pillow case. Please bring a sleeping bag/comforter and towel for showering.  Use of commercial kitchen, coffee pot, microwave, fridge available.
  • Yurt – $115/night  plus tax  – Sleeps six – one full futon, four bunks. Firewood and camp stove/basic pots and dishes, toilet paper, kitchen towels provided. Dog friendly. (About a 1/3 mile ski out to the yurt.)
  • Smith Cabin – $220/night plus tax – Sleeps up to six – a queen and single in a loft  and single and fold down couch on the main floor. Dog friendly.
  • Moore Cabin – $210/night plus tax  – Sleeps four – one queen, two bunks with linens, towels provided.  (pets not allowed).
  • Worley Cabin – Sleeps two – Already claimed by Gretchen!

Note: If we rent the Lodge room(s) the Lodge is all ours to hang out in from about 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m., including cooking our own dinner/breakfast.If we book out all of the lodging for two nights they will apply a 10% discount to all lodging.
